Forest School

This information relates to the safe provision and operation of the Bradshaw Hall Forest School – BHFS, within the secure grounds of Bradshaw Hall Primary School

Bradshaw Hall School is committed to providing a range of high quality learning experiences for children of local families. This includes opportunities for children through a learner-centred approach to experience a range of outdoor learning which will enhance their development, challenge them both mentally and physically, inspire and motivate them to give their best in everything they attempt. The school is committed to providing qualified personnel and resources within the grounds to be able to facilitate the delivery of the Forest School principals and ethos.

Every child will have access to the woodland area during their time at the school and take part in Forest School activities as part of the whole school curriculum where they will be encouraged to develop their self-confidence, self-esteem, their creativity and imagination whilst acquiring skills that will help them appreciate the environment around them including how they can benefit from it and maintain it for the future.

All necessary adaptations will be made to accommodate all participants enabling all too fully access the curriculum within the woodland area and surrounding school field.

All Forest School activities are led by a qualified Forest School Practitioner (FSP) supported by additional staff either Forest School trained or Advanced Teaching Assistant C2 qualified.

In addition to being Forest School Level 3 qualified, NEBOSH, Intermediate Food Hygiene and a Designated Safeguarding officer qualified, the FSP holds an ITC Outdoor Activities Enhanced First Aid and Emergency First Aid at Work Certificates which are a mandatory requirement for Forest School delivery.
